Now imagine a delicious Filipino-inspired farm to table brunch with produce from Alma Backyard Farms and authentic Filipino ingredients from Island Pacific Market and Philippine coffee (Barako, Bokod Blends) from Teofilo Coffee Company, with delicious craft-cocktails by Don Papa Rum. Be serenaded by Filipino-American singer-songwriters Michael Barnum and Nievera. And you have the ultimate Sunday Funday Experience. And all for a good cause!
The urban farm in Compton includes 64 wood raised beds, 36 in-ground rows, 12 fruit trees, 8000 square feet of pollinator gardens, chicken coop and a children's learning garden. The Compton site is also home to our farm stand where Alma-grown produce is made available to the community at affordable prices.
ALMA exists to reclaim lives of formerly incarcerated people, repurpose land into productive urban farms, and re-imagine disenfranchised communities in Los Angeles as a hub of transformation. .
Chef Charles Akau IV is a Hawaiian chef of Filipino descent. He has worked in the culinary field for over a decade at world-renowned restaurants and resorts including Four Seasons Hualalai, Disney Aulani, The Westin Hotel in San Francisco, Roy's Hawaii, Sam Choy's Kai Lanai, and most recently, for Michelin-starred Chef Tony Esnault's French restaurant at South Coast Plaza, Knife Pleat.

Farmfluence is a Filipino founded content-to-table platform with a mission to shine the light on our local farmers and make high-quality organic produce accessible through engaging content. Farmfluence will be providing produce for Tikim Fest participating restaurants.
Follow the journey of eight young Filipino-American students who chose to spend one summer in the Philippines to nurture their Filipino roots, and to answer the question, “What does it mean to be Filipino?”
